CHECKING 3494 LIBRARY STATUS

To check how many tape cleaning cycles are left

       #/usr/bin/mtlib -l /dev/lmcp0 -qL | grep 3590

To find out tape drive model and serial number

       #/usr/bin/mtlib -l /dev/lmcp0 -D

To check the number of tape drives in library

       #/usr/bin/mtlib -l /dev/lmcp0 –qS

checkout libvol <library_name> <volume_name> checkl=no

checkin libvol <library_name> <volume_name> status=private owner=<tape owner>

To Display devices in the system and their characteristics

>lsdev -Cc tape

To display detail about tape drive

>lscfg -vl rmt1
